Thank you so much. I do some digital collage as well. My digital work tends to have a bit more of a graphic design feel, especially in the usage of typography, but i wouldn't dare say that capable of being a graphic designer lol. lately I'm been creating digital collages and printing them out, so i can cut them up and use them in analog work. It's been an interesting process so far, still to early to tell whether or not it's something that I'll continue. But, I'm always on teh look out for interesting source material. thanks again!
It definitely is. For me, it's not only therapeutic, but also meditative. There's such a sense of silence and stillness I find in the process.
Start small. Index cards are fantastic. They're a great size, cheap, and easily accessible. Use with whatever you have readily available as source material; junk mail, flyers, receipts, old notebook pages, cardboard food packaging, etc. This alone helps you start looking at things differently. You start paying attention to color and type and texture.
Cut out or tear off the things you like or find interesting., and start gluing it to the index card. Don't think to much about it and don't spend to much time on a single piece. The only goal really is to fill the index card.
When you've done that take note of what you like about it, what you don't, what materials you enjoyed working with, which ones were troublesome, any thoughts or impressions about any part of teh process. And the next day do it all over again. You'd be amazed what one index card a day can do for you creative practice and outlook.
Much appreciated! “only your in-breath” was a kind of a touch one for me, i had an idea of what i thought I wanted it to be and it fought me every step of the way, I lost the battle but it still became something interesting. “while the dark” is a collection of small experiments that I’m not quite sure what to make of yet, we’ll see where they lead.
That’s so interesting to know the process and intentions were not congruent with the pieces as they are now. Sometimes art making gives the art a life of its own.
--that these bits and pieces can come together in a way that expands awareness of what is, and creates reality as it goes.---a wholeness made of broken beings indeed.
Beautiful works. Do you do digital collage too?

I bet it’s therapeutic doing these collages. Do you have tips for those who want to do something like this?

That's my favorite part of making art, the surprises, the unexpected, the mystery.
