I enjoyed the Georges Simenon quotes. I loved reading his Maigret stories as a French student in the 70s. It's time to revisit them. Thanks for the reminder, Duane.

My pleasure! I wasn’t familiar with the Maigret series until read that guest post by @adam hill on @Joel J Miller’s newsletter. Glad gave it a try, i wouldn’t have stumbled upon this wonderful passage any other way.

Great post, and just lovely art. It is hard to get lost in my art if I have an audience, perhaps it is the fear of observed mistakes. I love gifts and possibilities and in/end dishonesty!

I know what you mean. There’s something special about being tucked away. Cut off from everything. Stranded, beautifully. A kind of blissful unknowing. A temporary hermitage.
