I (re)discovered Rush in the summer of 2020, going so far down that rabbit hole it became a full-fledged rabbit warren. (LOL) I go back and forth between Vapor Trails and Clockwork Angels being my favorite album of theirs. I am totally not surprised that you listened to them once upon a time.
If you want to get an idea of what Alex is up to these days, he's part of a new group called Envy of None. Very different sound than Rush, but very good, IMO.
