This is a wonderful poem. Where do I start? I love the Patti Smith quote and what you've done with it. To live is to dream to dream you need the world and be in it! So beautiful.
Thanks so much! I read her book Year of the Monkey last month and this line really impacted me. This entire piece is little more than my marginalia for that passage.
One of the things I love about working on a typewriter is that I'm not profcoent with it. All the mishaps add so much more depth, and richness, and personality. It's my own personal practice of wabi-sabi.
Actually, the more I think about it, the deliberate imperfections in the Navajo weaving tradition might be an even better example. I may have to explore that a bit more! Thanks for the prompting!

That is a great Patti Smith quote. I appreciate the rawness/honesty, of your work. A clean final page would not be as interesting to my eyes.

I have not read that book. Recommending?
It didn't 'wow' me but I enjoyed it Patti Smith has such a distinctive voice and perspective.
So not like M Train or Just Kids?
I haven't read those yet, but they're on my list 😂
Oh no that's unacceptable! Stop what you're doing and read M Train! Thank me later! hahahahahahhahaha
Agreed 100%.
