"Who's it for", Seth Godin asks? When you're doing the work. When you're making things. Who is it you envision? Who do you imagine giving it to? It's deceiving how simple the question seems. And, maybe it is. At least, for those of you without a proclivity for overthinking.
This column struck home Duane. When I'm working, I'm satisfying my own desire to create a piece of beauty. Something that I can add to the world. During that time, I'm in a delightful haze. When I complete the piece and wake up, then it's time to offer it up, not knowing who might discover it.
I hate to be so direct and please tell me to bugger off if it’s none of my business but where do you find all these space helmets? I love your collages with them! I’m definitely getting those cards and sharing my deck with my son’s partner.
Duane, I just remembered- I am keeping my eye out for a 2nd small collage of yours - to purchase - so I have a pair! I want these leaning on my books on my book shelf. There was a collage of yours I loved- but it was in a larger size. Csn you make smaller to be the same as my postcard? You can direct message or email. Thanks!
Yes! I’m taking in every word- knowing it’s for ME (pointing away now) and YOU and YOU and YOU. Thank you Duane, for these moments of beauty- in which to start my day. I wish you a peaceful Sunday.
What an amazing compliment to wake up to on a Sunday morning. Thank you Duane 🙏. This made my day.
Same here 😂
Glad to hear it!
My pleasure! Thanks for doing what you do!
Way cool!
Thank you!
I love your posts. For the art, for the links, for your thoughts.
In amongst everything, they’re a breath of fresh air and peace.
That means so much to me! Thank you!
You’re very welcome!
Those simple questions stop us in our tracks! Why are they so hard to answer?
Perhaps because we take them for granted without actually giving them much thought.
On one hand I’m so tempted. On the other hand I’m still so addicted to the hunt through the random materials I have in my studio…
That's why I do both, lol.

Thanks Emily! Most of the astronauts I make in Midjourney, manipulate in affinity photo, print out, and then cut up.

.... one who still believe's ... that making beautiful things can heal some small part of it in some small way.
Much appreciated!

Thank you so much Andrea! Wishing you the same!
I love your Art! The rough, the abstract, the less abstract, all of it! A treat for my eyes.
Thank you Emily! That's really so uplifting to hear! I appreciate it!
