Again, amazing work here. Love the 3 featured, each in their own way. And love the composition of the chair ICAD.

You seem to be in a new creative flow and you surprise me every time!

Thanks Emily! Glad you liked them. Each were interesting and insightful to work on in their own way. The chair piece is probably my favorite in the ICAD group as well. It’s a photo I took walking around town last weekend. I printed it out on an older b&w laser jet copy machine, I think it gave it some interesting character. It’s one of the things I love about moving from digital to analog and back and forth. Thanks again!

This is an excellent point, Duane: "Go slow. Don't be in a hurry. Savor everything."

Lately, I've been trying to this more in my writing, hiking, and photography. Oddly enough, this savoring way of life has transferred over to how I have been making coffee the past few weeks.

I've switched back to using a pour-over filter rather than my espresso machine. That has forced me to slow down and savor each pour. It's a few moments of simply watching and waiting for the water to filter through and into the mug. Savor the moment!

I like that collage "inhabiting the things" as well. Those antennae in the middle between the top of the tower on the left and the buildings on the right are interesting. That shape and 2 antenna almost remind me of some cyborg/robot deer with 2 antlers. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Neil! Yes, I absolutely agree with you about making coffee slowly. That’s been a favorite practice of mine. Something about moving water in thin streams if concentric, expanding circles that turns the whole process into a meditation.

It’s funny you mention the robotic deer, I actually made a collage featuring a cyborg deer last year, you’d think that would be easy to find in my collection…but I can’t seem to. I’ll have to do some digging. Thanks again!

I am going to share it and about you and some other inspiring artists/makers I found on Substack with a Creativity in Recovery group I facilitate. I am going to present a collage exploration plus creative freedom series. It will involve lots of hands on experimenting and making. I know they will be inspired also.

I love that! I think collage would be great for this! It’s a practice of fractures finding wholeness, an embodiment of discordant things that somehow cohere. Let me know how it goes!

I definitely will. I am excited to see how it unfolds. I may even write about it.

Thank you! That one was such a surprise. I was testing out an idea, and it just came out so much better than I could have anticipated.
